APPEAL OF THE PRESIDIUM OF THE BELARUSIAN SOCIAL DEMOCRATIC PARTY (HRAMADA) TO THE HEADS OF G8 STATES

                                                           Dear Ladies and Gentlemen!

       Belarusian Social Democratic Party (Hramada) addresses to you with a case of unexampled judicial proceedings under the former Presidential contender Aliaksandr Kazulin, which has place in our country these days.
       In Belarus this person has being judged only by one reason. During the Presidential campaign he told the true about the present regime, demanded from Aliaksandr Lukashenka to observe the Constitution and existing legislation of our country and had been achieving this by the constitutional instruments emphatically.
       Preliminary investigation and behavior of the judge and state prosecutor shows that in coming time we will see an unfair sentence of the court. In the center of the Europe the violence against well-known scientific, former Minister of the Belarusian Government and former Presidential contender has being prepared.
       More than 50 thousands of the Belarusian citizens signed for discharge of Aliaksandr Kazulin. 222 personal guarantees were delivered to the court, though only 2 are necessary for discharge by the norms of the Belarusian legislation. Many leaders of other countries, international organizations, well-known political and public figures stand for the defence of Aliaksandr Kazulin. However, Belarusian authorities ignore the opinion of own society and international community, continuing the cruel judicial performance.
       The board of the Belarusian Social Democratic Party (Hramada) addresses to you with a request to discuss the problem of Belarusian political prisoners at the time of the Summit in Saint-Petersburg and to demand from Belarusian President to stop prosecution by political reasons against the leader of our Party Aliaksandr Kazulin and other persons.
